Patriarch Irenaeus of Serbia’s condolences over the plane crash outside Moscow
His Holiness Patriarch Irenaeus of Serbia has sent a message expressing to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia his condolences over the tragedy that happened in the sky outside Moscow. On February 11, 2018, the An-148 jet flying from Moscow to Orsk crashed in the Ramenki district in the vicinity of Moscow. All the 71 passengers and crew perished.
‘On behalf of the whole Serbian Orthodox Church and on my own behalf we ask you and the families of the casualties to accept our prayerful condolences’, the message reads, ‘Deeply pained by this plane crash, we pray that our Lord Jesus Christ may give repose to the souls of those who died so tragically and grant all their relatives, friends and loved ones consolation in the grief that we all share’.
