Gorny Convent celebrates patronal feast of its main cathedral
On 29th and 30th June 2019, the Gorny Convent in Ein Karem held celebrations marking the patronal feast of its main cathedral – the Cathedral of All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Russian Land.
Officiating at the festal All-Night Vigil in the cathedral was Archbishop Kliment of Nezhin and Priluki, who is on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine. Concelebrating with the archpastor were clerics of the Gorny Convent – Archpriest Viktor Mnoyan and Hieromonk Innokenty (Bespalov), as well as the clerics of the Nezhin diocese accompanying Archbishop Kliment on his pilgrimage.
On 30th June, the feast day, the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of All Russian Saints was celebrated by Archimandrite Alexander (Yelisov), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem. Concelebrating with him were Archimandrite Roman (Krasovsky), head of the Ecclesiastical Mission of the Russian Church Abroad; Archpriest Viktor Mnoyan; Hieromonk Innokenty (Bespalov); as well as Deacon Iliya Drachuk, a cleric of the Mission.
After the dismissal the assembly of clergy led a procession with the cross around the church.
A festive reception at the convent’s refectory followed.
To conclude the celebrations, Archimandrite Alexander (Yelisov), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, and Archimandrite Roman (Krasovsky), head of the Ecclesiastical Mission of the Russian Church Abroad, visited Hegumenness Georgia (Schukina), abbess of the Gorny Convent, at her chambers and cordially greeted her with the feast.
