Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada on the anniversary of his enthronement. The text of the message is given below:

Your Beatitude:

Please accept my sincere and cordial greetings with the anniversary of your Primatial enthronement.

Our Lord the Chief Shepherd entrusted you to perform your Primatial ministry in the land of missionary feats of St. Tikhon and other zealots of piety who shone forth on the American continent. Strengthened by their intercession, you carry out your Primatial service “in the spirit of meekness” (Gal 6:1), teaching you flock by word and especially by the example of your life to succeed in “righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness” (1 Tim 6:11).

I wholeheartedly wish to Your Beatitude God’s unceasing help in your various responsible labours at the helm of the Orthodox Church in America, as well as good health and bountiful spiritual blessings from our All-Generous Heavenly Father.

With respectful love in the Lord,

 /+Hilarion/
