Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, has sent the following greeting to His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania with his Nameday:

Your Beatitude,

On the commemoration day of your heavenly patron, monkmartyr Anastasius the Persian, I extend to you my cordial greetings and best wishes.

Strengthened by the prayerful intercession of praised Anastasius, you have worked for many years with integrity and godly sincerity (1 Cor 1:12) to spread the living and enduring word of God (1 Pet 1:23). The steadfastness in God’s truth and feat of confession performed the glorious sufferer inspire you in carrying out the hard primatial ministry at a time when enemies of the cross of Christ (Phil 3:18) seek to shake the noetic boat of the Church.

On this auspicious day, I prayerfully wish Your Beatitude that the Lord of peace may give you peace at all and in every time (2 Thess 3:16), grant you physical and spiritual strength and send you His abundant help in your work for the good of the Most Holy Church of Albania and of the whole Orthodoxy.

With respectful love in Christ,

+ Hilarion

Metropolitan of Volokolamsk
