DECR chairman sends greetings to Primate of Orthodox Church in America on 5th anniversary of his enthronement
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada on the 5th anniversary of his Primatial ministry. The text of the message is given below.
Please accept my cordial greetings with the remarkable date – the fifth anniversary of Your ascension to the metropolitan see of the Orthodox Church in America.
By God’s providence You have been called to the responsible work of edifying the saved by God flock of the Orthodox Church in America in the salutary Orthodox faith.
While taking example of the exploits of St. Tikhon and all the saints who have shown forth in the American land, You honorably perform the ministry of the builder of the Church of Christ “in all godliness and dignity” (1 Tim 2:2), taking care for the spiritual needs of archpastors, clerics, monastics and laypersons of the Orthodox Church in America and working tirelessly “so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere” (2 Thess 3:1).
I wholeheartedly wish You God’s help in preaching the salvation, good health and the abundant spiritual grace from the All-Bountiful Heavenly Father.
With reverential love in the Lord,
Metropolitan of Volokolamsk
