Annual session of the Syrian branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society held in Damascus.

On 14th December 2025 on the twenty-seventh Sunday after Pentecost, at the Church of Saint Ignatius the God-bearer at the representation office of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus, Syria, matins and the Divine Liturgy were served.
Among the worshippers at the service were the representative of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society in Syria Doctor Michel el-Teli and members of the Syrian branch of the IOPS.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy in the parish hall of the representation the annual session was held of the members of the Syrian branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
With the blessing of His Beatitude the Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East John X, attending the session were the chief secretary of the Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch the bishop of Edessa Romanos and the bishop of Darayya Moussa.
Bishop Roman conveyed to the participants of the meeting the blessing of the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch and wished them success in their labours in the forthcoming year.
As reported by the website of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus, archimandrite Philipp (Vasiltsev) in his speech emphasized the constant attention and interest of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate towards the IOPS and the Syrian branch of the Society and expressed the hope that the Society’s activities in Syria would be renewed in the near future.
