On the Eve of the Feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill сelebrates All-Night Vigil at Moscow's Epiphany Cathedral

On November 3, 2025, on the eve of the celebration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (in memory of the deliverance of Moscow and Russia fr om the Poles in 1612), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Epiphany Cathedral in Elokhovo, Moscow, reports the Patriarchal Press Service.
His Holiness was conselebrated by: Metropolitan Grigory of Voskresensk, Chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, First Vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' for the City of Moscow; Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate; Archbishop Thomas of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk, Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Moscow Patriarchate, Rector of the Epiphany Cathedral in Elokhovo; Bishop Alexy of Ramensk, Personal Secretary to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill; Protopresbyter Vladimir Divakov, Secretary to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' for the City of Moscow; Archpriest Maxim Baturin, Dean of the Churches of the Epiphany Deanery of the Moscow (City) Diocese; Archpriest Boris Obrembalsky, a cleric of the Epiphany Cathedral in Elokhovo; and clergy from the capital.
The hymns of the All-Night Vigil were performed by the choir of the Epiphany Cathedral in Elokhovo (Choirmaster - A.K. Mayorov) and a combined choir of the "Bogoyavlenie" Boys' Choral School and the Sunday School at the Epiphany Cathedral in Elokhovo, conducted by E.M. Sidorycheva.
The Patriarchal service was broadcast live on the "Spas" and "Soyuz" television channels, as well as on the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarchia.ru.
The Epiphany Cathedral houses a specially venerated copy of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, created in the 17th century, which was previously located in the Kazan Cathedral on Red Square before its closure in 1930. According to tradition, before the Polyeleos, during the singing of the troparion, the venerated icon was transferred from the altar to a lectern in the center of the church, wh ere numerous faithful venerated the holy object.
Tomorrow, November 4, on the Feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church will celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Dormition Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin.
