DECR representative makes a report at International Conference on Youth Diplomacy and New Challenges of Time

On October 9, the Zhirinovsky University of World Civilizations in Moscow hosted the opening of the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Youth Diplomacy and New Challenges of Time.” The forum was organized by the University of World Civilizations and the International Public Fund “Russian Peace Foundation.”
Taking part in the meeting are representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad, the Moscow House of Compatriot, the Russian and foreign higher educational institutions, and educational and research centers.
Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries, participated in the plenary session of the conference with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations. Fr. Sergy presented a report titled “The Russian Orthodox Church facing modern challenges,” in which he assessed the situation with religious rights and freedoms in Ukraine, Estonia and Moldova, as well as the international responses to violations.
The conference continued with five sectional meetings.
