Hierarch of the Church of Jerusalem celebrates Liturgy at Russian Ecclesiastical Mission’s Metochion in Haifa on its patronal feast

On 2nd August, the commemoration day of the Holy Prophet Elijah, Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazarerth and All Galilee officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Haifa Metochion of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission on its patronal feast with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine.
Concelebrating with the hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem were: Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem; Archpriest Miroslav Vitiv, sacristan of the Metochion; the Mission’s clerics – Hieromonk Pyotr (Borodulin), Hieromonk Filofei (Artyushin) and Deacon Makary Petukhov; as well as the Arabic-speaking clergymen of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and ordained pilgrims.
Among those who attended the divine service were Mr Alexey Krasilnikov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Haifa, parishioners of the Haifa Metochion, numerous representatives of the Arabic-speaking Orthodox Christian communities from Haifa, Nazareth and Bethlehem, and pilgrims from different localities of the Holy Land.
The Liturgy was celebrated in the Church Slavonic, Greek and Arabic languages.
During the divine service, Archimandrite Vassian read out a prayer for the granting of peace, website of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission reports.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the Gorny Convent’s choir and a choir of the local Orthodox Arab community.
After the dismissal, a procession of the cross took place, which was followed by a festive repast.
