Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission concelebrates with Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem on his Name Day

On March 29, a festive divine service was celebrated in the Catholicon of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem marking the Name Day of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem. According to the church calendar, the name day of His Beatitude is celebrated on March 22 in new style, the commemoration day of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. This year, the name day was moved to March 29 in accordance with the statute of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ.
The divine service was celebrated by Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem. His Beatitude was assisted by an assembly of bishops of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, clergy of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre, Greek-speaking and Arabic-speaking clergy of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and representatives of the Orthodox Churches in the Holy City.
The Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem was represented by its head, archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), and deacon Makary Petukhov, the Mission’s website reports.
The service was celebrated in Greek, Arabic, Church Slavonic, and Romanian.
After the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Theophilos celebrated a festive prayer service, after which the procession of hierarchs and clergy proceeded to the premises of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to attend a festive reception.
