Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk celebrates Divine Liturgy at the Resurrection Church in Seoul

On March 23, the third Sunday of Lent, also called Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR); Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia; and Archbishop Feofan of Korea celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Seoul.

The archpastors were assisted by hieromonk Paul (Choi); priest Nikolai Vasin, secretary to the DECR chairman; hieromonk Yuvenaly (Marushchak); and hierodeacon Nektary (Lim).

The divine service was celebrated in Church Slavonic and Korean.

Among those praying in the church was H.E. Georgy Zinoviev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Korea.

After the dismissal, Archbishop Feofan warmly greeted Metropolitans Anthony and Sergiy and thanked them for the joy of common prayer.

The DECR chairman conveyed the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' to the worshipers and delivered a sermon.

As a memento of the divine service, Metropolitan Anthony presented panagias to Metropolitan Sergiy and Archbishop Feofan and donated the altar cross to the Church of the Resurrection of Christ.

Then the hierarchs talked with the parishioners at the tea party.
