Member of Russian Ecclesiastical Mission concelebrates with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos on commemoration day of St. Gerasimus of the Jordan

On March 17, commemoration day of St. Gerasimus of the Jordan, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine officiated at the festive Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the monastery of St. Gerasimus of the Jordan. The monastery is located in the West Bank, west of the Jordan River and north of the Dead Sea.
His Beatitude was assisted by Archbishop Methodius of Tabor and Archbishop Demetrius of Lydda, hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem; clergy of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre; Arabic-speaking clergy of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem; and ordained pilgrims from Russia.
The Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem was represented by hieromonk Petr (Borodulin) of the Mission.
Praying at the Divine service were archimandrite Chrysostom, abbot of the monastery of St. Gerasimus of the Jordan, other clergymen of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, members of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, lay pilgrims from Russia, representatives of the local Russian-speaking, Greek-speaking and Arabic-speaking Christian communities who have arrived in the monastery for the patronal feast from various cities of the Holy Land, and numerous pilgrims.
The service was celebrated in Greek, Arabic and Church Slavonic, the Mission's website reports.
After the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Theophilos led a festive procession with the cross around the monastery church.
The sisters of the Gorny Convent, who are currently doing their obediences at the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, prayed at the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts celebrated in the evening.
