Representative of the DECR participates in Interreligious Roundtable

On February 25, a roundtable discussion on the topic "The Experience of Religious Organizations in Working with Military Personnel and Veterans of the Special Military Operation (SMO)" was held in Kazan in a hybrid format. The event was organized by the Bulgarian Islamic Academy (BIA).

The main goal of the roundtable was to exchange experiences among representatives of religious organizations on strengthening the spiritual and moral foundations of military service, fostering a healthy climate within military units, and supporting the families of military personnel.

Participants of the roundtable included: the head of the Department of the Kazan Diocese for Interaction with the Armed Forces, Archpriest Vladimir Samoylenko; a staff member of this diocesan department, Archpriest Andrey Zinkov; the head of the Department of the Kazan Diocese for Interaction with Medical Institutions, Hieromonk Roman (Modin); a cleric of the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist in the village of Klyuchishchi, Verkhneuslonsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan, Priest Vladimir Gornovsky; the rector of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy, F.G. Khusnutdinov; the head of the Center for Interreligious Dialogue at the BIA and Executive Director of the Foundation for Strategic Dialogue and Partnership, E.L. Sadykova; the security advisor to the Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan, A.F. Aliagayevich; the deputy mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan for supporting SVO participants and their families, Mansur Dzhalaletdinov; the imam-khatib of the "Kyzyl Bayrak" Mosque in the Verkhneuslonsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan, Afghan War veteran, military pilot, and retired Lieutenant Colonel Timur Ibragimov; the deputy chairman of the Mufti of the Penza Region for public relations and interaction with government authorities, Yu.D. Bibarsov; and others, including representatives of state authorities, public organizations, religious figures, as well as master's and doctoral students of the BIA.

With the blessing of the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Antony of Volokolamsk, a staff member of the DECR, Hieromonk Gregory (Matrusov), participated in the roundtable in an online format, addressing the participants with a welcoming speech.
