His Holiness Patriarch Kirill speaks on the phone with His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije

On 25th February 2025, a telephone conversation took place between His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and His Holiness Porfirije, Archbishop of Peć, Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci and Serbian Patriarch.
The Primates of the two Churches exchanged fraternal good wishes for the coming Lent, assured each other of mutual prayers and shared with each other their views on the problems facing the Orthodox Church, expressing their hope that ways would be found to overcome the existing conflicts and confrontations.
Taking part in the conversation were also Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate; Metropolitan Irinej of Bačka; and Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, adviser to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’.
