Representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ to the Patriarch of Antioch takes part in the divine service on the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos

On the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos according to the Revised Julian Calendar, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, took part in the Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in Damascus, website of the Representation reports.
His Beatitude Patriarch John X of the Great Antioch and All the East officiated at the divine service. Concelebrating with His Beatitude were auxiliary bishops, namely, Bishop Romanos of Seleucia, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, and Bishops Moussa of Daraya, John of Sergiopolis, Arsanios of Hierapolis and Moses of Larissa. Among the concelebrants were also Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev) and the Damascus clergy. Prior to the divine service, a festive procession of the cross took place.
To commemorate the patronal feast of the Damascus cathedral, Father Philip presented to His Beatitude a Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
His Beatitude Patriarch John asked Archimandrite Philip to convey his heartfelt gratitude and greetings to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations. He also thanked Father Philip for concelebration.
