German village of Konstanz marks fortieth anniversary of the founding of the arish of Saint Procopius of Ustyug.

On 21st July 2024 on the 4th Sunday after Pentecost and the feast of the apparition of the Kazan icon of Our Lady and the Day of Saint Procopius the Fool-for-Christ and Miracle-worker of Ustyug, the administrator of the diocese of Berlin and Germany the archbishop of Ruza Tikhon celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Saint Procopius parish of the city of Konstanz. The parish was celebrating on this day the fortieth anniversary of its founding.
At the festive Liturgy celebrating with the archbishop were the parish rector Father Constantine Schmidt, archpriest Vladislav Dikhanov from the city of Lahr, Father Alexei Tereschenko from Hannover and protodeacon Archil Chkhikvadze.
The service was conducted in both Church Slavonic and German. At the Litany for the Departed prayers were offered for the repose of the clergy and laity who took part in the creation of the parish and who laboured there at various times.
As reported by the website of the Berlin and Germany, at the end of the Liturgy archbishop Tikhon and the clergy held a short service of glorification of the Kazan icon of Our Lady and the blessed Procopius of Ustyug. ‘Many Years’ was sung on the occasion of the patronal fest.
Archbishop Tikhon congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the holiday and delivered a sermon on the topic of the Gospel reading for that Sunday.
The parish rector Father Constantine Schmidt thanked the ruling bishop for his prayers and archpastoral greeting.
The festivities continued with a meal. The teachers and children of the Sunday school gave a concert of classical music and choral art on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the parish.
Archbishop Tikhon also congratulated Father Constantine on the occasion of his fiftieth birthday. Father Constantine had just celebrated his jubilee on the Day of Saints Peter and Paul.
