Prayers at the mass graves of Soviet soldiers offered in the capital of Iran on Victory Day

On May 9, archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev), rector of the St. Philip church in the UAE and of the St. Nicholas cathedral in Iran, celebrated memorial service at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers in the territory of the Russian Embassy in the Zargandeh district in Tehran. Concelebrating were hegumen Varlaam (Dulsky), deacon Alexei Kostin, and clerics of the cathedral, the parish website reports.
At the end of the memorial service, Fr. Alexander congratulated all those present on Victory Day and reminded them that Easter in 1945 fell on May 6, three days before our victory over fascism.
On the same day, he celebrated memorial service at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers at the Holy Trinity Orthodox cemetery in Doulab district of Tehran.
