His Holiness Patriarch Kirill celebrates All-night Vigil at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the eve of the Feast of the Annunciation

On April 6, the eve of the 3^rd Sunday of Lent, the Adoration of the Cross, the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, and the commemoration day of the demise of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia (1925), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' celebrated the All-night Vigil with the carrying-out of the Precious and Life-giving Cross of the Lord at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

Concelebrating with His Holiness were Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Bishop Alexy of Ramenskoye, private secretary to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill; archpriest Mikhail Ryazantsev, sacristan of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior; and clergymen of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and of the capital city, the Patriarchal Press Service reports.

Among those praying during the service was Mrs. Yelena O. Serova, a pilot-cosmonaut and Hero of the Russian Federation.

Liturgical hymns were sung by the Patriarchal and chamber choirs of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior conducted by Ilya Tolkachev and Sergei Sidorenko.

The All-night Vigil was broadcast live on the Soyuz and Spas TV channels and on Patriarchia.ru, the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church.

During the celebration of the polyeleos, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church carried out the Cross from the sanctuary.

The choir of the Christ the Savior Cathedral’s clergy conducted by archpriest Andrei Marushchak sang the magnification to the feast of the Annunciation.
