Archbishop Theodosius of Sebastia visited the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission
On the 28th of November the hierarch of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, Archbishop Theodosius of Sebastia, paid a visit to the Russian EcclesiasticalMission in Jerusalem and was met by the head of the mission, Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev).
According to the RDM press service, during the conversation Archbishop Theodosius assured the head of the mission of the unwavering solidarity of the Jerusalem Patriarchate with the canonical position of the Russian Orthodox Church on the issue of the church troubles in Ukraine and noted that the Jerusalem Church will never enter into Eucharistic communion with schismatics.
He wished Archimandrite Vassian blessed service as head of the Russian EcclesiasticalMission in Jerusalem and God's gracious help in carrying out such a responsible obedience in such difficult times for the Holy Land.
Archimandrite Vassian thanked Archbishop Theodosius for his warm words and emphasised that the Russian Orthodox Church and the Jerusalem Orthodox Church are currently bearing the same cross - the burden of the deepest sorrow for the innocent victims of the hostilities in Ukraine and the Middle East, but the joint prayer of the two Sister Churches for peace will certainly be heard.
Hegumen Nikon (Golovko), secretary of the mission, took part in the meeting.
