Metropolitan Nestor of Chersoneses and Western Europe leads the celebration of the feast day of the monastery of St Luke in Bologna

On June 10, the eve of the feast day of St Luke of Crimea, in the monastery of the same name in Bologna, Italy, celebrations were held to mark the patronal day of the monastery. The celebrations were led by the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Chersoneses and Western Europe, administrator of parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy.
Vladyka celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of the monastery. At the entrance to the church Metropolitan Nestor was met by the abbot of the monastery, Bishop Ambrose of Bogorod, vicar of the Patriarchal Exarch, and a host of clergy, clergy and guests of the monastery in holy orders.
The service was held in Church Slavonic, Moldovan and Italian, according to the website of the Diocese of Chersoneses.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Nestor, Bishop Ambrose and the clergy who served with them proceeded to the centre of the church and said the prayers of thanksgiving before the icon of St Luke of Crimea.
The Patriarchal Exarch then delivered a sermon in which he warmly welcomed the abbot of the monastery, the numerous clergymen and laymen who had arrived for the service, and congratulated everyone on the feast day.
On the same day, a fair of traditional Moldovan products and cuisine was held for the participants of the monastery festival.
The celebrations were attended by the head of the Catholic Archdiocese, Monsignor Matteo Zuppi, Archbishop of Bologna and president of the Italian Bishops' Conference.
