Cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church met with representatives of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia

On May 30, 2023, a meeting was held at the parish of the Archangel Michael in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) between Hegumen Pavel (Khokhlov), Muhammad Faisal Abdul Aziz, representative of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (MYMM) and representative of the University of Islamic Sciences of Malaysia Dr. Mohammad Farid Bin Hafez Muhammad Omar.

The meeting was also attended by V.A. Zamkovoy, second secretary of the Russian embassy in Malaysia, and Priest Serafim Choi, a cleric of the church, according to the official Telegram channel of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia.

During the meeting, parties discussed various aspects of the humanitarian cooperation and further development of friendly relations between Christians and Muslims in Malaysia.

Hegumen Pavel (Khokhlov) told the guests about the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Kazan, where the Primate took part in a meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World: Traditional Spiritual and Moral Values as a Basis for Interreligious Cooperation”,

Priest Seraphim Choi led a tour of the church, explaining to the guests the structure of the worship space and describing the saints depicted in the iconostasis.
