DECR Chairman meeting with Prefect of Dicastery for the Eastern Churches

On May 2, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk met with Prefect of the Holy See Dicastery for the Eastern Churches Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti. With a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations came to Italy the day before on a brief working visit.

Metropolitan Anthony congratulated Monsignor Gugerotti on this appointment to the high curial post, noting the longstanding work of His Eminence as the diplomatic representative of the Holy See in Trans Caucasus, Belarus and Ukraine. They discussed a wide range of issues of mutual concern.

In conclusion of the talk they exchange tokens of the meeting.
