The TV channel ‘Spas’ will premiere a film on the life of St. Thomas the Apostle and Christianity in India

On April 23, the premier of a documentary on the life of St. Thomas the Apostle and Christianity in India will take place. The film is created by the TV channel ‘Spas’ with the support of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations.
The team of the channel went to India to show this remote and mysterious country as nobody had seen or showed it before and to understand what kind of person was actually one of the most enigmatic Apostles of Christ - Apostle Thomas.
The viewer will follow in the Apostle’s footsteps up to the place of his martyrdom for Christ and will be able to understand how St. Thomas managed to baptize these people so faithful to their own traditions and to found on Indian costs one of the oldest Christian Churches almost a millennium prior to the Baptism of Russia. The viewer will also see how the Malankara Church lives at present and who are ‘the Saint Thomas Christians.
The presenter of the film is Vladimir P. Legoida, chairman of the Synodal Department for the Church’s Relations with the Society and Mass Media and editor-in-chief of the Foma magazine.
The premier will be on air and at social networks of the TV Channel ‘Spas’ and will begin at 20:00 on April 23.
