In Volhynia a church in Kiyazh village is transferred to the ‘OCU’ despite the protest of rector and parish
DECR Communication Service, 05.07.2022.
On July 3, 2022, the community of the church of the Resurrection of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at the Kiyazh village, Volhynia region, was transferred by the authorities to the ‘OCU’ with the help of an assembly of residents.
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reports with a reference to the Volynners.com., only 32 locals took part in the vote held near the church.
At the same time, rector of the church Father Anatoly Demyanchuk and members of the parish community have refused to move to the schism. According to parishioners, on July 2, during a parish assembly, all the members of the community testified to their faithfulness to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy.
The parish council of the church of the Resurrection proposed to the ‘OCU’ supporters that they should create and register a religious community of their own without interfering into the affairs of the community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. An account of this has been written by Ms. Taisiya Gonchar, a parishioner of the church of the Resurrection, in her social network page.
