Archbishop Nestor celebrates Divine Liturgy at Loulé in Portugal

On 29 August 2021, the 10 th Sunday after Pentecost, Archbishop Nestor of Madrid and Lisbon celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish in Loulé, Portugal.

Archpriest Ioann Gerbovetsky, dean of the parishes in Portugal, deacon Gleb Zayika, and deacon Aleksei Chesnokov concelebrated.

Attending the service was Mr. Vitor Aleixo, Mayor of Loulé.

After the dismissal, Archbishop Nestor greeted the clergy and parishioners and expressed cordial gratitude to the Mayor for his efforts made for the restoration of the former half-ruined Portas do Céu chapel and its delivery to the Orthodox community.

The first Orthodox Liturgy was celebrated at the chapel in Loulé on April 10, 2021.
