Orthodox parish in Chiang Mai hands over oxygen devices for COVID-19 patients
have been struck by COVID-19. On July 12, 2021, with the financial support of the diocesan
administration office, St. Vladimir’s parish in the city of Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand handed over
two oxygen devices and basic-needs products to the regional center for the support of COVID patients.
Deacon Paul Srisumoro was appointed coordinator of this charity action. The head of the local
municipality presented him to those gathered on the occasion. Deacon Paul told them about the
Orthodoxy in Thailand. The administrative officials of the city expressed gratitude to the Diocese of
Thailand, promising every possible support to the activity of the Church.
In the situation of the sanitary isolation of Chiang Mai from other provinces and in view of poor resources
of St. Vladimir’s parish, members of other Orthodox parishes in Thailand had rendered their support to
this charity action.
Secretary of the Diocese of Thailand, Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), called upon the faithful to
continue their unceasing help to those in need and to intensify their prayers for the deliverance of the
country from the disease.
