Metropolitan Hilarion meets with newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Brazil

On 16 th March 2021, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with H.E. Alexey Labetsky, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Taking part in the meeting was also Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries. The sides discussed issues pertaining to the presence of the Russian Orthodox Church in Brazil, current inter-Orthodox relations, and matters of mutual interest.

Metropolitan Hilarion wished Ambassador Labetsky God’s aid and success in his future diplomatic career.
