On the day of their patron saint, the parishioners had an opportunity to venerate the Icon of Our Lady of Pochaev brought over to Milan, the press service of the Parish of the Myrrh-Bearing Women in Venice has reported.
The parish church could not accommodate all those who came for the service. Audio and video transmission of the service was arranged outside the church.
After the service, His Beatitute Vladimir presented those who had worked hard for the consolidation of Orthodoxy in Italy with awards. Among those awarded are Archpriest Nikolay Makar and Mr. V. Yatsenkivsky, Ukrainian General Consul in Milan.
Later that day, the Orthodox clergy of the Italian parishes said a thanksgiving at the relics of St. Ambrose of Milan, with a multitude of the faithful attending.
