Head of the Korean metropolia of the Patriarchate of Constantinople visits DECR
On 31 October 2011, Metropolitan Ambrose of Korea (Patriarchate of Constantinople), who arrived in Moscow with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to attend the consecration of archimandrite Feofan (Kim) as Bishop of Kyzyl and Tyva, visited the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR) and met with its deputy chairman, archpriest Nikolai Balashov.
They talked about the development of spiritual ties between the people of Korea and Russia and pastoral care for the Russian-speaking part of the Orthodox community in the Republic of Korea.
Taking part in the talk were also protopresbyter Daniel Na, rector of St. Paul’s church in Incheon, the Republic of Korea, and a DECR staff member Dmitry Petrovsky.
That same day Metropolitan Ambrose departed for Istanbul, where he will take part in the session of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Orthodox Church of Constantinople.
