DECR Chairman meets with Ambassador of South Korea

On March 12, 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, received the Ambassador of South Korea to the Russian Federation, H. E. Wi Sung-lac, at his request. In a constructive dialogue they discussed issues of mutual concern involved in the development of humanitarian relations between Russia and Korea.

The ambassador noted that he sought to meet hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church as soon as possible after he presented his credentials in February since he recognized the important role that the Russian Orthodox Church has played in history and in today’s life in Russia.
