Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with Arthur Schneier, President of the “Appeal of Conscience” Foundation

On 24 October 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met in New York with the President of the “Appeal of Conscience” Foundation, Rabbi Arthur Schneier.

Metropolitan Hilarion and Rabbi Arthur Schneier discussed the issues of interfaith dialogue and cooperation between the Department for External Church Relations and the “Appeal of Conscience” Foundation. Metropolitan Hilarion shared his impressions form participating in the session of the United Nations Third Committee and expressed his hope that the dialogue between religious confessions and this authoritative international institution would be expanding, especially in the issue of protecting religious minorities which are subject to discrimination and persecution.

Taking part in the meeting was Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk, administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA.
