Patriarch Kirill meets with President Alexander Ankvab of Abkhazia
On March 4, His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, received A. S. Ankvab, President of the Republic of Abkhazia, at the patriarchal and synodal residence in the St. Daniel Monastery.
They discussed the religious and cultural relations between the peoples of Abkhazia and Russia.
Participating in the meeting were Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, and Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, DECR vice-chairman.
