Construction of new cathedral in Paris continues
On September 29, 2015, Archbishop Mark of Yegoryevsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate office for institutions abroad, who is on a working visit in France, arrived in Paris to visit the construction site of a new cathedral of the diocese of Chersonese on the Branly embankment.
Archbishop Mark came to the site together with Bishop Nestor of Chersonese, Rev. Maxim Politov, secretary of the diocesan administration, and Protodeacon Constantine Stepanov, who accompanied His Eminence Mark on his trip.
The high guest from Moscow was taken on a tour of the construction site. Representatives of the French contractor Bouygues informed him about the construction progress. The French specialists introduced Archbishop Mark to the latest achievements in realization of the project and informed him about the next work front for finishing the façade and the plans to create the compound’s engineering and communication infrastructure.
After the tour of the construction site, the hierarchs proceeded to the press center of the Russian Orthodox Religious and Cultural Center to hold a working meeting with Victor Sobolev, deputy head of the Capital Construction Board under the Presidential Chancellery, Mr. A. Soldatov, who is responsible for the cathedral’s interior decoration, and the Bouygues delegates.
The next day, in conclusion of his working visit to France, Archbishop Mark, accompanied by Bishop Nestor, visited the Museum of His Majesty's Life-Guards Cossack Regiment in Courbevoie in the Paris suburb of Courbevoiethe Paris suburb of Courbeyvoie, the Russian Orthodox Church diocese of Korsun website reports.
