On 22 December 2015, a plenary session of the Synodal Biblical and Theological Commission of the Russian Orthodox Church took place at the Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute for Post-Graduate Studies under the chairmanship of Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
Taking part in the session were Archbishop Amvrosy of Petergoff, rector of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy; Archimandrite Sergy (Akimov), rector of the Minsk Theological Academy; archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, chairman of the Synodal Church-Society Department; Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, DECR vice-chairman; Archpriest Vladimir Vorobyov, rector of St Tikhon’s Orthodox Humanitarian University ; Archpriest Maksim Kozlov, professor of the Moscow Theological Academy, first deputy chairman of the Education Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church; Archpriests Dimitry Yurevich and Vladimir Khulap, pro-rectors of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy; Archpriest Vladimir Shmaly and hieromonk Ioann (Kopeykin), pro-rectors of the St Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute for Post-Graduate Studies; and other members of the Commission.
They discussed a draft Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church and other matters brought before the Commission.
