Victims of the plane crash in Egypt remembered in prayer in the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Antioch in the USA
On November 7, the day of St. Raphael of Brooklyn, the head of the Archdiocese of Antioch in the USA, Metropolitan Joseph, celebrated matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Archdiocese’s cathedral in Brooklyn. He was assisted by Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, Archbishop Michael of New York and New Jersey (Orthodox Church in America), Bishop John of Worcester and New England and Bishop Nicholas of Brooklyn (Archdiocese of Antioch in the USA).
That day marked the 120th anniversary of the beginning of the ministry of St. Raphael in the American continent as vicar of St. Tikhon (Belavin), the future Patriarch of All Russia.
The service was conducted in Arabic, Greek, English and Church Slavonic. During the liturgy, Metropolitan Joseph said the prayer for the repose of the souls of the passengers and crew of the Kogalymavia Airlines, who were killed on October 31 in the plane crash in Egypt, the website of the Moscow Patriarchate Representation in the USA reports.
