Metropolitan Hilarion takes part in seminar on social ethics at Uppsala University
On 14 May 2014, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, chairman of the Synodal Biblical and Theological Commission and rector of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute for Post-Graduate Studies, took part in the seminar on Social Ethics and Orthodox Tradition, organized by the Faculty of Theology and the Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies of the Uppsala University. Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Uppsala University with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
Among the participants in the meeting were also archpriest Vladimir Shmaliy and Hieromonk Ioann (Kopeykin), vice-rectors of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute for Post-Graduate Studies; Mr. Andrei Shishkov, a staff member of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute for Post-Graduate Studies; and faculty and researches of the Uppsala University. Prof. Elena Namli, director of the Uppsala Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies, acted as a moderator of the seminar.
