Patriarchal Exarch of Africa celebrates Sunday Liturgy in Luanshya, Zambia

On 21st April 2024, 5th Sunday of Lent, commemoration day of the Venerable Mary of Egypt, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the town of Luanshya, Copperbelt Province, Zambia.
Concelebrating with the hierarch were Priest George Maximov, chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa; Priest Nicholas Musoya, dean of the Exarchate’s parishes in Congo; Priest Barnabas Ntasha, dean of the Exarchate’s parishes in Zambia; and the local clergy.
The Liturgy was celebrated in the Bemba, English, French and Church Slavonic languages.
A sermon prior to the Communion was delivered by Rev. George Maximov.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin addressed the flock with an archpastoral homily, website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa reports.
Rev. Barnabas Ntasha received from the hierarch the Liturgical Gospel in the English language, and all those who attended the Liturgy were presented with icons of the Mother of God and an edition of the Orthodox Catechesis in the Bemba language.
