A representative of the Russian Orthodox Church attends the WCC Youth Commission meeting in Manila

From November 13 to 19, Manila, capital of the Philippines, hosted a meeting of the Youth Commission of the World Council of Churches. Taking part in the gathering with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, was its staff member, Danil Arakelian.
During the meeting, results of the Commission's work in previous years were discussed and plans for the next six years were approved. Commission members set up profile working groups, held meetings with the leadership and representatives of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines and of the WCC member churches. Danil Arakelian was elected a Commission vice-moderator from the Orthodox Churches.
The WCC Youth Commission is an advisory body that promotes active participation of young people in the inter-Christian relations and the development of cooperation and solidarity among Christian churches.
