Moscow Patriarchate delegation attends enthronement of new head of Finnish Lutherans
On 2-3, 2018, the enthronement of the newly elected Primate of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Finland, Archbishop Tapio Luoma, took place in Turku, Finland.
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, it was attended by a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church. It included Bishop Mstislav of Tikhvin and Ledeinoe Pole, head of the delegation; Archpriest Victor Lyutik, representative of the Moscow Patriarchate in Finland, rector of the church of the Protecting Veil in Helsinki; and Hieromonk Stephan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations.
The celebrations were also attended by the President of Finland Sauli Niinisto, General Secretary of the Lutheran World Federation Dr. Martin Junge; Bishop Bartholomew of Arianzos, representative of the Orthodox Church of Constantinople; heads and representatives of Lutheran churches in Europe, Africa, North and Central America, the episcopate and clergy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Finland.
During the grand reception in the historic city hall in Turku on June 2, Bishop Mstislav brought a message of congratulations to Archbishop Tapio Luoma from the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
On June 3, Archbishop Tapio Luoma was installed at the cathedral in Turku.
