On 2nd of March 2024, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, a delegation of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church arrived in Russia from India. On behalf of the Malankara Church’s educational institutions they will conduct negotiations with the Moscow Theological Academy on promoting cooperation in church singing and icon painting.

In response to the message of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' in which His Holiness shared his alarm over the consideration in the first reading of the discriminatory draft bill No. 8371 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia suggested that this draft law "serves a hidden purpose - to completely prevent the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from further fulfilling its centuries-old salvific mission among the heirs of ancient Kievan Rus'."

On the 8th of February 2024, the 190th anniversary of the birth of the Russian scientist-chemist Dmitri Mendeleev, a memorial service was held in Tbilisi at his monument, the only one in Georgia. In a word at the end of the service it was noted that the scientist's legacy is a common heritage, so one cannot speak of "Russian" or "Georgian" science, but of a common treasury of knowledge belonging to all mankind.

In the course of debates on the order of acceptance into the Church of persons ordained in schismatic communities one can often hear references to various precedents in history. For instance, the defenders of the position of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which had received members of the UOC KP and UAOC into communion without reordination, cite examples of acceptance in the present dignity of persons ordained by schismatics and even by heretics. Yet, in most cases these examples do not seem to be convincing upon closer look.
