Patriarchal Exarch of Africa meets with President of the High Authority for Good Governance of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire

On 23^rd April 2026, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, visited Yamoussoukro, capital of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and saw the city sights.

Later that day, Metropolitan Konstantin and Mr Alexei Saltykov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, met with Mr Zoro Epiphane Bi Ballo, President of the High Authority for Good Governance in Côte d’Ivoire, Chairman of the Regional Council of the Marahoué Department.

They were joined in the meeting by other representatives of the Russian Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire, the Prefect of the Sinfra Department, General Secretaries of the Prefectures of Sinfra and Bouaflé, Deputy Prefects, members of the local Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Chief Imam of the Bouaflé Mosque and members of an association of pastors from the Marahoué Region, as well as a Catholic nun from the Congregation of Notre-Dame de la Charité d’Évron.

Representing the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa were also Priest George Maximov, Chairman of the Exarchate’s Missionary Department; clergy of the West African Deanery led by the Dean, Priest Parthénios Dansou; and Metropolitan Konstantin’s secretary, Reader V.V. Dendyuk.

The Russian Orthodox Church’s delegation received an exceptionally warm welcome and hospitality. The guests learned about the rich culture of the Marahoué Region and its current state of affairs. Discussed at the meeting were possible avenues for cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Metropolitan Konstantin presented to Mr Zoro Epiphane Bi Ballo, who is an Orthodox Christian, an Easter egg. The statesman, in return, presented traditional gifts to the Exarch and other delegation members, website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa reports.
