Venerable Confessor Tamar (Mardzhanova) included in the Synaxis of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church

On October 11, participants in the session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church heard a report of Bishop Pankraty of Troitsk, chairman of the Commission for the Canonization of Saints, on the inclusion of the venerable confessor Tamar (Mardzhanova) into the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, Patriarchia.ru reports.
On 28 December 2017, the Holy Synod resolved to include the venerable confessor Tamar (Mardzhanova) in the calendar of the Russian Orthodox Church. She was canonized by the Georgian Orthodox Church in December 2016.
In 1905-1924, the venerable confessor Tamar was hegumeness of a convent in Moscow and of a scete near Moscow. She was arrested and sentenced to exile, after which she returned to Moscow and died there in 1936. The Commission of the Moscow diocese for the Canonizations of Saints petitioned the Synod for the inclusion of St. Tamar in the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors.
The Holy Synod resolved to include the vеnerable confessor Tamar into the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessor of the Russian Church.
