Schismatics seize the church in Belaya Tserkov diocese in Fursy village
DECR Communication Service, 24.05.22.
On May 22, 2022, several armed men put up a fight, broke the doors and stormed into the church of St. John the Theologian in the diocese of Belaya Tserkov in the village of Fursy, Kiev region, the Union of Orthodox Journalists reports with reference to the website of the diocese.
Referring to an illegal resolution on the religious community’s transfer to the “OCU,” the schismatics provoked a fight, rеsorted to violence against archpriest Andrei Mukha, rector of the church, and smashed down the front door. All this was being done with support of the “OCU clerics” Nikolai Gopainich and Maxim Matviychuk.
One of them addressed the faithful, saying: “I ask you to enter the church freely and calmly and pray in a Ukrainian Orthodox local church.”
Inspectors of the “dialogue police” preventive communication department were present, but did not interfere into what was happening.
