The canonical Church is banned by authorities in Brovary near Kiev
DECR Communication Service, 07.05.2022.
The activity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been banned by the decision of the city council deputies in the city of Brovary, Kiev region, Ukraine, “while martial law is in effect.”
Mayor Igor Sapozhko wrote on his page on Facebook, ‘It means that real estate of church communities will be placed under guard and a special requirement for their work will be introduced.” He has not specified how exactly the churches will work as the authorities have banned the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Earlier, under pretense of the “threat to national security,” Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin decided to ban the canonical Church and ordered to take inventory of church assets and seal up church buildings.
