DECR Chairman meets with Ambassador of Great Britain

DECR Communication Service, 11.04.2022. On April 11, 2022, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with H.E. Deborah Bronnert, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to the Russian Federation.

During the talk, Metropolitan Hilarion told the representative of the United Kingdom about the conversation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia with Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby that took place on March 16, and about other initiatives pertaining to the dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Church of England.

There has been an exchange of opinions on the current political situation and on a number of other issues of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, the sides exchanged souvenirs.
