The Serbian Church reports new attacks on Orthodox churches in Kosovo and Metohija
The Diocese of Raska-Prizren of the Serbian Orthodox Church is very much alarmed by reports that attacks on churches in Kosovo and Metohija are continued. Thus, on February 12, 2022, the church in the Drenovec village was broken into and the donations of the faithful were stolen. Earlier, all the windows and the door of the St. Elias church in the Nekodim village were broken.
As the Serbian Orthodox Church website reports, it is already the sixth attack made on churches in the region in 2022. According to the report, “Since the beginning of the year, three times as many incidents on ethnic grounds as in the same period last year happened against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
The Diocese of Raska-Prizren called upon the law enforcement to investigate these cases and to bring culprits to account and appealed to representatives of the international community to address the situation.
