On November 24, 2021, Pierre Richard, a famous French actor and film director, visited the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity of the Diocese of Chersonesus, the Russian Orthodox Church, and the exhibition organized with the support of the diocesan department of culture and the Russian Orthodox Religious and Cultural Centre on Branly Embankment in Paris.
Pierre Richard saw an exhibition of paintings by a talented Russian artist Sergei M. Chepik (1953-2011) whom the legendary French actor knew personally and whose works he keeps in his family collection. One of the paintings he has kindly given for exhibiting at the Centre.
Ms Marie-Aude Albert-Chepic, the artist’s widow and keeper of his works, led a tour around the showrooms. Present were director of the Centre Leonid Kadyshev; Rev. Maxim Politov, sacristan of the Trinity Cathedral, Rev. Georgy Sheshko, secretary of the diocesan department for culture; representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation; and Russian journalists.
Pierre Richard signed the visitor’s book and went to the Holy Trinity Cathedral accompanied by Rev. Maxim Politov, diplomats and clerics. He saw the interior, taking a keen interest in the history of the cathedral and the work that needs to be done for its upgrading and refinement.
