Primate of Russian Orthodox Church greets new King of Thailand
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message of greetings to His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun Rama X over his ascension to the throne of Kings of Thailand. The text of the message is given below.
Your Majesty,
Please accept my cordial congratulations on your ascension to the throne of Kings of Thailand. Our countries and peoples are linked by the bonds of long-standing good relationships established thanks to the personal friendship between the Russian Emperor Nicholas II and King Rama V of Thailand.
Today there are over a dozen parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church acting in Thailand, in which the Thai and the Russian priests work together to take pastoral care of their flock. I hope that Your Majesty’s Orthodox subjects will continue to facilitate the country’s development and strengthen the ties between our peoples. I kindly ask you to give your royal patronage to the Orthodox communities of Thailand, as your stephanophorous father did.
I wish to Your Majesty good health and every success in your lofty ministry, and I wish peace and prosperity to all the people of Thailand.
