His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir officiates at celebration of canonizing nun Anastasia (Romanova) in Kiev
On 24 January 2010, His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine officiated at the divine service at the Convent of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God in Kiev celebrated for canonization, as a locally venerated saint, of nun Anastasia (Romanova), a zealot of piety and founder of the convent.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at the convent Church of St. Nicholas were metropolitans Onufry of Chernovtsy and Bukovina, Nifont of Lutsk and Volyn, Ilarion of Donetsk and Maruipol; archbishops Sergy of Ternopol and Kremenets, Feodor of Kamenets-Podolsky and Gorodok, Ioann of Kherson and Tavria, Mitrofan of Belaya Tserkov and Boguslav, Vladimir of Pochaev, Antony of Borispol; schemabishop Alipy (Pogrebnyak), bishops Iriney of Nezhin and Priluki, Vladimir of Shepetovka and Slavutich, Panteleimon of Ivano-Frankovsk and Kolomyia, Serafim of Yagotin, Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Panteleimon of Vasilkov; secretary of the Kiev Metropolia archpriest Vitaly Kosovsky, clerics of the convent and of Kiev.
The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in its session on 24 November 2009 (Minutes 64) resolved that nun Anastasia (Grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna Romanova, d. 13/26 April 1900) be canonized as a locally venerated saint.
At the end of the divine service Metropolitan Vladimir and the clergy venerated the precious relics of the saint and congratulated worshippers with the glorification of nun Anastasia as a saint, press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church report.
