Ambassadors of two countries attend Divine service at the Russian Church representation in Damascus
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the church of St. Ignatius the God-Bearer at the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus on July 16, the commemoration day of the translation of the relics of St. Philip, Metropolitan of Moscow.
Attending the Liturgy were H.E. Alexander Yefimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Syrian Arab Republic, H.E. Tigran Gevorkyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Syrian Arab Republic; parishioners of St. Ignatius church, and pilgrims from Lebanon.
The service was held in the Church Slavonic and Arabic languages, website of the Beirut Representation reports.
After the dismissal, the glorification of the feast was celebrated.
At the end of the Divine service, Archimandrite Philip delivered a sermon, greeted the ambassadors and thanked them for attending the Liturgy on the day which is a feast for parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church Representations in Damascus and Beirut. Tea party followed.
That same day, deputy governor of Damascus Bashar Haffar visited the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church.
